Project Summary

Burrows Graham is providing civil, structural and highway engineering design services to PLP for this best in class 2.2 million sq ft logistics development on a 135-acre site in Milton Keynes.

Phase 1 commenced on site early 2022, comprising earthworks and infrastructure, with construction of the first 4 warehouse units varying due to commence later in 2022. The design includes significant alterations to the HE strategic road network. The development will be one of the first Carbon Net Zero constructed business parks in the UK.

Key Engineering Challenges

  • Major highway improvement works including dualling of Brickhill Street, a new site access roundabout and improvement to the A5/Brickhill Street junction involving National Highways and Milton Keynes Council.
  • Flood compensation works requiring liaison with the Environment Agency and the LLFA.
  • Ground improvement solution (vibro stone columns) required to several buildings.
