Burrows Graham have been appointed by Baytree Logistics Properties to provide Civil, Structural and Highway Engineering services for a one million sq ft two-unit scheme in Nuneaton being built to BREEAM Outstanding. The superstructure of the new 30,000sq ft offices is constructed entirely from timber, with a Glued-Laminated Timber (Glulam) structural frame, supported by Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) walls, floors and roof, making it one of the largest timber buildings currently being constructed in the UK and setting a precedent towards reducing carbon emissions in the Logistics sector.
Burrows Graham also completed the design of the S278 works at the Faultlands Farm site in comprising the provision of a new traffic signalised junction on Coventry Road, one of the main dual carriageway arterial routes to the south of the town centre. The scheme also involved a new cycleway along Coventry Road providing a connection for pedestrians and cyclists between the site and Griff Roundabout, as well as a toucan crossing incorporated into the new junction. The commission involved liaison with Warwickshire County Council in relation to the design and construction of the S278 works, as well as National Highways in terms of the impact of the development on the strategic road network due to the proximity of the site to junction 3 of the M6.
