Bloom Camberwell

Bloom Camberwell

Project Summary

Burrows Graham worked with Bloom to develop an ultra-urban industrial estate comprising 8 units with two storey warehouse storage and associated 2/3 storey offices on a constrained site in Camberwell. The building consists of a steel frame structure with concrete composite metal deck slab and lightweight roof. The site was designed considering key factors including construction adjacent to a Network Rail viaduct directly on the site boundary and nearby residential properties. The constrained site required detailed coordination utilising 3D modelling and clash detection.

Key Engineering Challenges

  • Construction adjacent to Network Rail viaduct
  • Poor ground conditions utilising controlled modulus column (CMC) ground improvements
  • Multiple cladding types and interfaces
