Project Summary

York House comprises a 4 storey 25 unit residential apartment block. Burrows Graham worked closely with client and architect to develop the design of this bespoke block, that provides affordable living within St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Glencar and Entex worked together to deliver the project commencing on site in 2023 and completing S278 access provision in Q3 2024.

The block comprises loadbearing masonry, precast concrete floors and stairs and a cut timber roof.

• Piled foundations with consideration of shrinkable clays
• Transfer beams and structures due to layout changes at upper floors
• Interface between varying construction materials
• Stability of lightweight top storey to wind loading
