PLP – South Caldecotte
Burrows Graham has completed civil, structural, highways and geotechnical design for the first phase of development for PLP. The first phase comprised 10 warehousing units with total floor area of 1.06 million sq ft.
Our design input included review of geotechnical data and specification of further ground investigation to allow settlement analysis and design of earthworks and ground improvement including monitoring and site inspections.
Key Engineering Challenges
- Major highway improvement works including dualling of Brickhill Street, a new site access roundabout and improvement to the A5/Brickhill Street junction involving National Highways and Milton Keynes Council
- Flood compensation works requiring liaison with the Environment Agency and the LLFA
- Ground improvement solution (vibro stone columns) required to several buildings.
